This client just moved into a house with chantilly white walls and bamboo floors with gray undertones. She asked for a neutral color palette that could work with varying wood tones and whites, grays, and beiges. She wanted to stay away from uber-trendy design but hoped to achieve a cozy, elevated look while still holding to her traditional roots. We went with a traditional striped hand-knotted wool rug a few shades darker than her floor. This served as the foundation of the room. From there we added comfy upholstered furniture in high performance fabric (keeping the kids in mind!) in shades of cream and white. An iron and brass side table complements the beautiful artwork we chose from Williams-Sonoma Home. Texture is key to cozy up a neutral palette, so we picked a playful lamp and lots of fun throw pillows. The sleek white coffee table grounds the room. We can’t wait to see this room pulled together!
